A group of ten San Juan Capistrano Rotary representatives visited Los Barriles (The Barrels), Mexico for a 3-day visit to Rotary projects funded by SJC Rotary and built with the help Club Rotario Los Barilles. The local club coordinates and funds projects in the surrounding community.
Past projects have focused on youth and our partnerships have assisted in the opening of two tech centers, upgrading the school’s library, construction of a community gathering stage for school and community meetings, and construction of restrooms in the central athletic complex/community center, and the recent construction of bathroom facilities at the community sports fields.
Located on the East Cape of Southern Baja midway between La Paz and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the local club, many of whom are originally from North America is continually striving to serve their local community.
The purpose of this trip was to visit projects that SJC Rotary has funded in the past, review future projects and to foster fellowship with their members.
During the latest trip, SJC Rotary presented a check for $3,000 to refurbish a deteriorating central playground.
