Adriana Lanting of Long Beach Rotary has been the Board Chair of Malaria Partners International since July of 2021. This is a short (4.5 min.) rapid-fire summary of her last trip to Africa to check on the progress being made. MPI has trained more than 4,000 Community Health Workers who do much more than just fight Malaria. Serving a population of more then 2 million people, they save lives. And while doing so, have some fun.
MPI was started by a group of concerned Rotarians from Seattle 4 Rotary. By becoming their own 501(c)(3) non-profit, they were able to partner not only with Rotary but with other organizations like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Vision, The Global Fund, UNICEF and others. They're fast becoming a major force in eradicating Malaria.
