A number of people have asked me about my writing hiatus. They were worried about me, my health, or that I was perhaps traveling. One of the reasons was I took over as an interim club president from April through June. That's not a great excuse since we have a club full of leaders who make the job really easy.
Mainly though, it's because I've been exploring a new medium of communication. My work history has been all about producing printed documents. Recently, I recognized people (including me) prefer videos–especially short ones. So I took the plunge and have been teaching myself the craft of producing videos. I explored different applications like CapCut, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier Plus before settling on Davinci Resolve.
I'm pretty good at the Adobe print applications; especially InDesign and Photoshop. With those, once everything looks good onscreen, with a few exceptions it's complete. Not so with videos. It seems there's always something you can change, tweak, adjust or move to tell a more effective story. That's both frustrating and ultimately rewarding.
I showed some of my work to some senior Rotary leaders this weekend and got great reviews. So I uploaded them to a YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@SJCRotary
Feel free to view, share or embed on your own website. Even download to modify or change. They're my gift to anyone who'd like to use them to promote what we do in Rotary. All I ask is you retain the original intent.
It's easiest to just embed a YouTube link so here are a few of my favorite videos. Some are branded with SJC Rotary logo but others use the generic Rotary branding. That's done intentionally so they can be used as needed.

All in all, there are more than 20. Most are around a minute; none longer than three. They're easy to watch and conveniently sorted into playlists.
Enjoy. Comments and ideas for future videos are welcomed.
More on the way.
